Fixing AI writing often takes changing just 1% of the output

By Greg Isenberg

A client complained that an AI-written piece didn't sound like him because it lacked the citations and references he typically uses. Rather than rewriting the whole thing, the ghostwriter went back and added two or three sentences referencing the New York Times or Harvard Business Review. That was it — 1% of the piece changed. The client's response was that it sounded exactly like him. The lesson: people often look at one single variable — a word choice, a missing habit — and condemn the entire output. If you understood what actually makes your voice your voice, you'd realize all you need to do is swap one adjective or add one small element, and suddenly the whole thing clicks.
