Fabrizio Rausa only asks how you are when he actually means it

By Fabrizio Rausa

Fabrizio Rausa pushes back against the social norm of asking people how they are out of politeness. His mother raised him to reach out and check in on people, but his position is: if he does not genuinely care how someone is doing, he is not going to ask. He refuses to be ingenuine. The result, he argues, is that when he does ask, people know it is real. Authenticity creates trust because it is rare. If you ask everyone how they feel as a reflex, nobody can tell whether you actually care. By only asking when he means it, his curiosity carries weight. He connects this directly to dating: that attitude, putting yourself and your mission first and only giving your attention when it is genuine, makes the whole process easier.
