Writing something doesn't mean you own it — most sentences are open source
There's a faulty belief that if your fingers touched the keys and typed a grouping of words, those words are yours. That's simply not true. If you write the sentence 'I woke up today and made coffee,' that is not attributable to you. It's an open-source grouping of words — no one owns it. A lot of people confuse the act of doing the physical writing with actually owning the idea. Ownership of content comes from originality, from ideas and framings that couldn't have come from anyone else. Just because you did the work of typing doesn't mean the output belongs to you in any meaningful sense.
