Edu Pou measures success by meaning created, not units sold

By Edu Pou

A thread running through Edu Pou's account of campaigns like the Coca-Cola Portable Park is that he was not primarily focused on how many more bottles of Coke were sold as a result. His concern was whether the work created something that felt genuinely whimsical and playful, something that produced a real event or experience people would remember and share. This does not mean commercial outcomes are irrelevant, but it reflects a philosophy that the most lasting advertising creates cultural value first. When the work does that well, commercial results tend to follow, but they are not the leading measure of whether the idea was worth pursuing.
