Edu Pou joined Metacampus to help people succeed in the virtual economy

By Edu Pou

After leaving We Are Social, Edu Pou became fascinated by NFTs and the metaverse, describing himself as 'trapped' by these developments. He points to Yuga Labs, the creators of Bored Ape Yacht Club, raising 400 million dollars and being valued at 4 billion dollars as a company that started with JPEGs, as evidence that something significant is happening beyond the hype. Rather than standing outside it, he joined a fully remote company called Metacampus, described as a global collective of technology-minded experts focused on social innovation. Its aim is to empower people to succeed in the virtual economy. Edu is particularly drawn to the metaverse's potential for inclusion: he argues it does not judge you based on gender, sexual orientation, age, or background, offering people a genuine fresh start. Metacampus was already working on making virtual spaces more accessible and inclusive, with a first project targeting people who lack equal access to traditional education.
