Every time you write, ask: what is the short, medium, and long-term value of this?
One of the most helpful questions to ask yourself every time you sit down to write is: what is the short, medium, and long-term value of what I'm creating? This applies even to commodity content. Commodity content — the kind of widely-known ideas that exist in every topic — is not worthless just because it's common. There is borderline infinite commodity content inside every niche. The real question isn't how to cover every type of commodity content in your space. The question is: which pieces of commodity content do you agree with, and which do you disagree with? That's where your identity and perspective enter, and that's where your content stops being interchangeable with everyone else's.
