Don't want a personal brand? Use theme-based pages instead

By Greg Isenberg

Not every founder or marketer wants to build a personal brand, and that's a legitimate position. One smart alternative is creating theme-based or topic-based social media pages rather than branded company accounts or personal profiles. The example here is Julian Shapiro, who runs a growth agency called Demand Curve. Rather than building an account called 'Demand Curve,' he created an X account called 'Growth Tactics.' People interested in growth tactics naturally follow it, discover his agency through the content, and convert into customers. The same logic applies to meme pages or aggregator accounts — the page 'Chase Passive Income' is cited as another example. The key insight is that you can use anonymously-operated, value-providing accounts to drive inbound for whatever you're building. It doesn't have to be tied to a person or even a company name. You're simply organizing and aggregating useful information for the internet, and the attention that follows becomes a free acquisition channel.
