Effort and trying too hard are not the same thing

Fabrizio Rausa draws a clear line between putting in genuine effort and being a tryhard. Learning how to take better photos, understanding framing, and being intentional about what you post all require effort, and that effort is worthwhile. Tryharding is different: it is when the effort becomes visible in the output and the content looks manufactured or desperate for approval. The goal is to do real things well and capture them honestly. The work happens behind the scenes; what shows up in the photo should look effortless.
