Why you should run a freshwater flush on your watermaker before leaving

By Lauren Landers Sailing

If leaving a boat for an extended period, Lauren Landers Sailing arranged for her caretaker to do a weekly freshwater rinse on the watermaker rather than running the engine. Leaving a watermaker sitting with stagnant water inside, even relatively clean water, can cause biological growth that degrades the membrane prematurely.
