Stowing a sleeved spinnaker into a deck turtle bag on the foredeck
After the spinnaker is fully collapsed into its ATN sock, Lauren Landers Sailing flakes the sleeved sail and packs it into a deck launch bag, called a sail turtle, that is attached to the foredeck lifeline. This keeps the sail ready for the next hoist while getting it out of the way and secured on deck. The only minor injury of the whole operation was the hard fiberglass hoop at the mouth of the sock catching her in the head on the way down, which she accepted as an acceptable sole casualty.
