Manta rays and tiger sharks appear under underwater anchor lights at night

At the next anchorage Lauren Landers Sailing planned to move to, the boats turn on underwater lights at night, which attract manta rays. On at least one occasion a tiger shark also came in drawn by the same lights and activity. Lauren acknowledges this is not a situation where she would get in the water alone at night, but it illustrates how underwater lights in tropical anchorages can bring in large pelagic animals, both the spectacular and the potentially dangerous.
