Your personal stories are an 'unmade data set' AI can't replicate

By Greg Isenberg

Everyone using AI to create content is drawing from the same underlying data set — the same LLMs trained on the same corpus of text. What AI cannot access is your personality content: the experiences you had as a kid, the mistakes you made, the lessons you learned — things you've never articulated anywhere. That is an unmade data set. AI simply doesn't know it. The competitive edge in the AI content era isn't prompting better; it's building a richer personal library of net-new data points that no one else has. The way you build that library is by writing about how you became you — your formative experiences, your visceral mistakes, your hard-won perspectives. Those things seem mundane to you because you lived them, but when you articulate them in a story, that piece of writing instantly differentiates itself from every other commodity piece covering the same topic.
