Why you must never send cold emails from your core business domain

By Greg Isenberg

Sending cold email from your main business domain will nuke its deliverability. If you blast 10,000 cold emails from your real company URL, you permanently damage the domain your team relies on for day-to-day communication, transactional emails, and marketing. The fix is strict domain separation: maintain dedicated domains for cold outreach, separate domains for email marketing, separate domains for transactional email (like password resets), and your actual business domain only for internal team use. Burner domains absorb the reputational risk so your core domain stays clean.
