Why traditional creative agencies are stuck at 10–15% net margins
A traditional creative agency with human staff relies on word-of-mouth and organic social media to attract clients. The people doing the work are humans — and that's where the margin gets squeezed. Hiring competitive talent is expensive, people leave and have to be replaced, and keeping the client pipeline full requires constant marketing effort. All of that friction compounds, and by the end of the year it's not unusual to land somewhere between 10 and 15% net margins. The model is structurally thin because its core input — human labor — is costly, unreliable, and hard to retain.
