The shared layer is what makes an AI rollup compound over time

By Greg Isenberg

The core insight of an AI holding company is that every business in the portfolio runs on the same agents, the same rule system, the same back office, and the same dashboards. You build that shared layer once, and then the second business is easier than the first because half of what it needs already exists. The third is easier still, and so on. Each acquisition you make reduces the marginal cost of the next one — that compounding effect is what makes the model so powerful.
