The core goal: maximize the model's capability at every step of development

By Greg Isenberg

Most people building apps with AI today just open their tool of choice — Codex, Claude Code, Cursor — type what they want, look at the result, make changes, and deploy. That's a valid process, but it's ad hoc. The whole point of a software factory is to ask, at each step of the development process: how can I best maximize the model's capability to get the greatest output? And equally: how can I move fast? The 'factory' framing implies structure, speed, and a conveyor-belt nature that lets you ship as quickly as possible without losing quality.
