OpenAI's Private Processing lets enterprises use AI without exposing data
OpenAI announced a feature called Private Processing at DevDay that helps companies use cutting-edge AI with greater confidence in data protection. With Private Processing, data is never retained during secure processing, automated security reviews are enabled, and critically, you do not have to grant OpenAI staff access to core content. Many enterprises want to use these models but have been reluctant to hand over access keys. This release addresses that concern directly. Teams that route through managed platforms like Azure Foundry, AWS Bedrock, or Google Vertex already have zero data retention agreements in place, but Private Processing broadens that assurance to direct OpenAI usage.
