Niching by geography or vertical makes client acquisition feel like fishing with dynamite
After understanding the full service stack, the most important reflection is: how can you make this unique to you? If you live in a particular geography or understand a vertical better than anyone else, niche it down — and then niche it down some more. When someone comes to you, it should feel like you are the only person for their specific situation. There are thousands of people starting AI consulting businesses, but what will attract the right client, retain them, and make sales feel effortless is ruthless focus on a particular ICP. Vague positioning like 'I do AI transformation, come work with me' won't cut it. Being the AI guy in a specific city or the AI assessment specialist for financial services lets you charge more and makes you far less vulnerable to pricing pressure — especially when you have the expertise to back it up.
