Llama is the default open model reference point — but always check the license
Llama is Meta's model family and is probably the default open model reference point for a lot of developers because it has a pretty big ecosystem. The upside is the community, the tooling, the examples, and the support. The downside is you still need to read the license and the model card, especially if you're building a serious commercial product. It's the common starting point, but it's not assumption-free.
