Hermes allows dynamic model swapping; most agents hardcode their models
In tools like Open Claw, every model is hardcoded, so you have to ask the team to switch models and wait for them to ship an update whenever a new model releases. Hermes architected its agent differently: models and thinking settings can be swapped in dynamically. The moment a new model drops, you can just swap it in immediately. This also enables cost-saving decisions in real time — for a simple task that doesn't require much reasoning, you can select something like Opus 4.8 with minimal effort, or Haiku with minimal effort, rather than burning tokens on heavy compute you don't need.
