GGUF: the common file format that makes local inference practical
GGUF is a common file format for local models that makes inference easier on normal machines. When you're downloading models to run locally — say, from Hugging Face — you'll frequently encounter GGUF files. It's the standard packaging that tools like LM Studio and llama.cpp are built around. In the Google AI Edge world, the equivalent path is LiteRT LM, which is the model format and runtime you care about when building on-device apps.
