A software factory is about workflow and skills, not a specific tool or model
One of the most important things to understand about a software factory is that it is completely harness and model agnostic — it doesn't matter whether you use Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or any other tool, and it doesn't matter which underlying AI model powers it. A software factory is fundamentally about someone's workflow, skills, and domain knowledge, packed up into specific reusable skills used throughout the development process. Any startup or product selling you a proprietary 'software factory' is missing the point — you don't need to purchase a different product to have one.
