Keep first date conversation fun and fantasy-driven, not serious
On a first date you should avoid serious, heavy topics almost entirely. Do not let her vent about her job, and never complain yourself because nobody likes a complainer. Every time you bring up her job you are reminding her of something she wants to escape. Instead, talk about fun things: traveling, partying, clubbing, drinking, concerts. When serious topics do come up, redirect them into a playful shared fantasy. If she mentions a career path she wants to pursue, Fabrizio Rausa's example is to joke that she should become your secretary instead. The point is to always project a fun, already-happening future together rather than interrogating each other about life plans. Avoid heavy questions like how many kids she wants, but if kids do come up, frame it playfully and assume it is already settled.
