One of the best sails in a while: 18 knots, 8.5 knots boat speed off Tahiti
On the sail toward Teahupo'o, Lauren Landers Sailing hit 18 knots of wind and a boat speed of 8.5 knots at its best. Starting out at around 6 to 6.5 knots with 12 knots of wind, conditions built into what Lauren described as probably one of the prettiest and best short sails in a long time. The scenery was stunning, and the experience was a reminder of how much you need a day like that until you are actually in it. The wind slowly died as the boat came into the wind shadow of Tahiti.
