How a sailboat watermaker shares its intake with A/C and heads

By Lauren Landers Sailing

On Lauren Landers Sailing's boat, the watermaker, air conditioning, and two aft heads all share the same seacock intake. From that shared intake the low-pressure pump feeds water to the pre-filter assembly, which has an analog pressure gauge, and then the supply hose runs aft past the drive shaft to the high-pressure pump and membrane housing before the product water goes to the tanks. Consolidating components in one bilge area shortened hose runs and kept everything accessible under the floorboards, even though space under the beds was also available.
