Start as a services business, then productize once patterns emerge

By Greg Isenberg

An agent readiness business can start as a straightforward services operation — charge roughly $3,000 to $10,000 for the audit and cleanup, and up to $10,000–$20,000 for larger B2B companies. After doing 10 clients in the same niche, repeated patterns will surface: the same docs are always missing, the same pricing pages are always unclear, the same questions always matter, the same structured files always need to be created, and the same monthly report always needs to be delivered. That's the signal to turn the service into software. This is the classic services-first, productize-later path — you're using client work to write the product spec for you. And the sales motion stays simple throughout: you're not selling the future, you're selling the screenshot. Show the founder what AI says about their company today. That becomes the entire sales deck.
