Hermes replaces CLI setup for messaging integrations with a simple GUI
Setting up messaging services like Telegram, Discord, Slack, Signal, and others used to require going into the terminal, running commands like `hermes setup`, and navigating through a CLI. Hermes now offers a GUI-based messaging settings pane where you simply enter your Bot Token and allowed user IDs directly in the interface. The expert points out that despite a broader trend of "CLIs are the future," the average person has no interest in opening a terminal — he gets comments on his YouTube videos constantly from people who won't even paste a single command. The new interface removes that friction entirely.
