Greg Isenberg's bulletproof system for testing business ideas with Grok

By Greg Isenberg

Greg Isenberg's approach to using Grok for business research is straightforward: give it two or three concrete ideas — similar or different — and ask it to research each one, figure out pricing, estimate costs, and then deliver a ranked recommendation. The key rule is that your task must not be open-ended. If you just say 'go research this,' you'll end up in a two-week research loop with nothing actionable. Giving Grok a defined set of options and asking for a clear recommendation forces it to synthesize rather than just gather. He also notes that Grok will proactively surface details like sourcing and margins on its own, without being asked — and always requesting a recommendation at the end is the move that turns research into a decision.
