Earn the hardware: prove value with free tools before spending $5,000

By Greg Isenberg

Greg Isenberg's take: before dropping $5,000 on a DGX Spark, download a free local model app like Hermes and actually integrate it into your daily solopreneur workflow. Get your hands dirty first. Once you've demonstrated to yourself that you can create real value with local AI, then you've earned the right to invest in the hardware. Don't be the person who buys the latest device and lets it sit on a shelf. The right framing is: if owning a Spark means you can 10x the cost in value created, it's a no-brainer. The hardware pays for itself — but only if you're already the kind of person who actually uses it.
