Leverage your location: show where you are, not just what you're wearing
If you are out somewhere interesting, the location itself is part of the content. Nice places signal that you live a certain kind of life, and a picture against a random wall throws that context away entirely. The one exception to posing in front of something is a recognizable landmark or monument, such as the Eiffel Tower, where the location itself adds clear value. You can either pose directly in front of it or take a creative candid shot that incorporates the landmark, for example framing it through a car windshield at night.
